A week in Budapest, Hungary. That's in east Europe with boarders to countries like Austria, Slovakia and Romania. Day one: rickety old street tram from soviet union days. |

I learned that the city was almost completly destroyed during WWII. Here is the palace, one of the few places not totally demolished. |

They did a good job restoring the city. Here is the Church of St. Mattress. I was never really a great follower for the Catholic church. |

OK, now for the fun stuff. Nazi war museum. They are serious about guarding the information board. |

I did not know that Hungary was a Nazi state during WWII. Here, an existing war bunker at the famous Citadel is used as the museum. |

The Hungarian army was allies with Germany in WWII. Although not the entire country was in favour of this. |
